3D Illustration of the Oxytocin molecule.
The goal of this project was to illustrate 3D oxytocin molecules by means of integrating different scientific and 3D computer graphic softwares.
First of all, I´ve used Chimera to fetch the molecule by its ID on Protein Data Bank (PDB). The next step was to modify some parameters in chimera (Surface features like hydrophobicity, atoms, etc.) and then export the image as an .obj file to open it in Blender.
Once I´ve got the file opened in Blender, I set up the scene, camera, focus, lights and background to obtain the final rendered image. Also, I used Adobe Photoshop to give the image a slight motion blur effect.
